Daily Routine

Mornings, workdays, free time, hobbies, simple daily activities.

What learners practise

Daily-routine dialogues recycle the present simple with a clear sequence. Learners hear time markers such as in the morning, after lunch and at night, and follow the speaker through a typical day.

Use the audio as a model for a short dictation: pause after each sentence and ask learners to write down the action and the time. You can repeat the same dialogue at a slower pace in the generator so weaker students can catch every verb. Finish with a speaking task where each student describes their own morning.

Listening skills and classroom ideas

  • Follow a chronological sequence of actions linked by time markers.
  • Recognise common present-simple verbs in daily contexts.
  • Notice weak forms of do and does in affirmative and negative sentences.
  • After listening, students dictate their own routine to a partner and compare.
